Jenet: a new approach to CAMAC Crate Control

Despite the age of CAMAC standard, CAMAC boards are ubiquitous in any HEP laboratory and still used for small experiments or test setups. Jenet is a new CAMAC Crate Controller, fully compliant to IEEE 583-1982, designed to simplify and speed up the hardware and software development of DAQ systems.

Jenet is now being distributed by CAEN, and has been rebranded as C111C. Please contact CAEN for purchasing and support.

Firmware release 2.09 is now available with several improvements and additions.

Full Ethernet connectivity - 10/100 Mbit LAN interface on front panel provides total control of the unit and of the CAMAC crate; remote control is obtained through the internal web server and a dedicated control socket

CAMAC bus access - full CAMAC bus control, including LAM detection and block transfer

NIM I/O Section - various functions available: outputs, inputs, event counters, pulse generators, COMBO I/O (trigger/busy) modules
more info...

Remote Control Library - ANSI C remote control library derived from the ESONE standard, with extensions to control local resources and dedicated block transfer functions

Local Web Server - full control using the embedded dynamic web server, with password protection
more info...

Advanced Scripting Engine - embedded script interpreter allows local execution of C-like code, with full control on CAMAC and NIM functions

Front Panel Indicators - X and Q signals on last access, user LEDs fault, status and NIM default indicators
more info...

Serial port - on front panel, for configuration of Ethernet parameters and other options; can be used as a remote serial port over TCP/IP
